The ISO/IEC 17025 describes the criteria for competence in the arena of calibration and/or testing laboratories. The focus of ISO 17025 internal auditor training for testing laboratory management system training is based on this standard. The ISO/IEC 17025 testing laboratory internal auditor training course prepares laboratory personnel to conduct effective and robust internal audits, satisfy accreditation requirements (such as INAB, UKAS, ANAB, NABL), and evaluate technical and management system performance. Note: this document references ISO/IEC 17025 as the testing laboratory quality management system standard that provides the context for the internal audit. However, this course does not address ISO/IEC 17025 in detail and does not aim to equip learners with the knowledge and skills to determine conformity, or otherwise, with ISO/IEC 17025. Learners requiring the knowledge and skills to conduct the entire Testing Laboratory Quality Management System audit against ISO/IEC 17025 should be directed to attend an Exemplar Global Certified LQMS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Lead Auditor (PR364) course. All attendees will be provided with a digital copy of the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Standard Requirements upon registration/booking. The digital copy of the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard is a view only document and may not be downloaded or printed. Attendee's may also bring a licensed copy of the standard purchased from an authorized ISO Standards Organization such as [NSAI, BSI, ANSI, ISI].

Yes, learners should already be familiar with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025, or should have successfully completed a Fundamentals course beforehand. This is a recommended prerequisite for attending the course, as it provides the essential background knowledge needed prior to attending Internal Auditor training. Having this prior understanding will help ensure that you can fully engage with the audit lifecycle activities covered during the course, including planning, conducting, reporting, and following up internal audits based upon the management and technical requirements of ISO/IEC 17025.
This course is the right level if your goal is to become competent to perform internal audits within a Testing Laboratory Quality Management System against the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025. The course is practical, hands-on and skills-based, covering audit planning, evidence gathering, findings writing, and reporting. If you are completely new to ISO/IEC 17025, a Fundamentals course may be the best first step before progressing to Internal Auditor training. If you are in any doubt, please ask to speak with a Kelmac Group Academy Representative or Learning Consultant

An ISO 17025 Internal Auditor course teaches you how to initiate, plan, conduct, report, and follow up internal audits against ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements. You will learn audit principles, audit evidence collection, identifying conformities/nonconformities, documenting findings, and supporting continual improvement within laboratory technical and QMS activities.
ISO 17025 Internal Auditor training develops the practical knowledge and skills needed to conduct effective vertical and horizontal laboratory audits. It covers audit initiation, planning, interviewing personnel, reviewing documented information, gathering objective evidence, evaluating compliance, recording findings, preparing audit reports, and audit follow-up.
An ISO 17025 Internal Auditor typically conducts vertical audits within a laboratory as part of its internal audit programme. An Auditor/Lead Auditor conducts horizontal and full management system audits, and generally has broader responsibility for managing an audit team, planning and leading audits, coordinating audit activities, and reporting overall audit results.
ISO 17025 Internal Auditor training can benefit testing and calibration laboratories that operate or are developing a management system based on ISO/IEC 17025:2017. It is relevant to laboratory personnel responsible for quality, compliance, auditing, technical operations, and management system requirements.
The course provides an overview of the technical and quality management system requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017, including impartiality, confidentiality, structural requirements, resource requirements, process requirements, management system requirements, and documented information, with the main focus on internal auditing. The training focuses on how these requirements can be evaluated during an internal audit.
ISO 17025 Internal Auditor training teaches you how to compare laboratory processes and documented information against applicable ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements based upon ISO 19011:2026. You will learn how to gather objective evidence, recognize gaps or nonconformities and conformities, document audit findings clearly, and support appropriate corrective action.
After completing an ISO 17025 Internal Auditor course, you can apply your auditing knowledge and skills within analytical laboratories and/or cablibration companies that use ISO/IEC 17025:2017. Depending on your role and experience, you can contribute to internal audit programmes, evaluate management system conformity, identify improvement opportunities, and support laboratory and/or calibration company’s readiness for accreditation-related assessments.
